“I was born here.”
Mehmet Eren Metin 31.03.2026

““Eid still brings a smile to our faces.””

Sidon, a city in southern Lebanon, has been home to Palestinian refugee camps for many years. In one of those camps, Mieh Mieh, we met Adnan while delivering Qurbani aid for Eid al-Adha.

Adnan is originally Palestinian. He was born in Lebanon, but he has never felt Lebanese. On his identity documents, he is still registered as a refugee.

“In 1948, my family left our home and took shelter in Lebanon. Everyone thought it would be temporary,” he says. “I have lived in this camp since the day I was born. I have never seen my own home or my own land.”

Thousands of people live in Mieh Mieh camp. Many are unable to work regular jobs because they do not have work permits. This makes daily life even harder.

“We face serious financial hardship here,” Adnan says. “Despite everything, Eid still brings a smile to our faces because you continue to remember us with your support.”
