A Sip of Water Holds Life Together

More than 700 million people have no access to clean, safe water. The diseases that breed in dirty water, cholera and salmonella and typhoid, take close to 400,000 lives a year. Most of them are children. That comes to roughly a thousand children every day.

In conflict and crisis zones such as Palestine and Syria, as well as in refugee camps where infrastructure has collapsed, the water crisis triggers additional disasters. Hygiene is the first thing to go. People drink what they can find, and what they find carries disease. Poor nutrition and the absence of healthcare let those illnesses spread further and hit harder.

We build projects to lift some of that weight off the people carrying it and to remove the threat that dirty water holds over them. Where conditions allow, we deliver clean water to storage tanks. In other regions we bring it straight to tents and to homes.

When there is no clean water, everything bends around its absence: cooking, washing clothes, cleaning dishes, staying clean. These problems put millions of lives at risk.

We can change this together.
