Each Class Has An Orphan Fellow
Each Class Has An Orphan Fellow
(Classes competing for goodness)
Millions of orphans around the world live far from family affection, ensnared in hunger and violence. Human trafficking, child labor, organ mafias, criminal organizations, prostitution and begging networks, and drug abuse are just some of the threats to which these children may be exposed.
IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation, which aims to protect orphans from all these threats and educate them to become healthy human beings, has implemented numerous projects in this regard.
- Why Orphans?
All over the world: ● There are 200 million orphans. ● 100 million orphans live on the streets. ● Every day, nearly 10 thousand children are orphaned by wars, natural disasters, and disease. ● Every 24 hours, 6 thousand children are kidnapped. ● Every year, 2.5 million children are sold. ● Every year 300 thousand children are forced to fight.
- What kind of work does IHH do for orphans?
The main goal of the IHH Humanitarian Foundation for Orphans' work is to support orphans who are unable to support themselves until they gain the ability to stand on their own two feet, to provide them with education, and to prepare them for a life with a family. With the aim of raising mentally, emotionally, and physically healthy people, IHH supports some of the orphans in their homes and some in the orphanages it opens. In this direction, IHH: - provides regular support to 800,000 orphans in 120 countries. - provides regular support to 121,921 orphans in 50 countries, including Turkey. - protects orphans with 38 orphanages, 1 orphan education center, and 1 child life center opened in 13 countries.
Students were also involved in the activities with the Each Class Has an Orphan Fellow campaign.
With this campaign, in which all preschool, elementary, secondary, high school, and private school students in our country can participate, the students of one class can meet the needs of an orphan throughout the year with 13$ they save each month from their pocket money.
By 2019, more than 1 million benevolent students in 7,663 institutions have provided care for more than 13 thousand orphans in Turkey and around the world, thanks to the campaign that began in 2013 and is supported by the Ministry of National Education, Eğitim-Bir-Sen.
This campaign, in which each class meets the needs of an orphan of the same age, is building "bridges of kindness" in different parts of the world. The orphans at one end of the bridge have the opportunity to live a dignified life by being protected from all dangers, while the benevolent students at the other end learn to share, be aware, and be sensitive.
Like the butterfly effect, with a small donation, you can meet the needs of an orphan and make their dreams come true.
