Cataract disease, which is generally seen in the elderly people and causes blindness when left untreated, is common worldwide due to age as well as local causes such as malnutrition, prolonged exposure to strong light and eye trauma.

Due to technical and financial impossibilities, millions of people lose their eyesight and live their lives dependent on others.

As IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation, we have brought light to more than 194 thousand people with the cataract campaign we launched in 2007. We continue to give hope to cataract patients with our work.
