100-vehicle convoy to travel from UK to Syria
A 100-vehicle convoy being readied for Syria by IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation and UK-based international aid agencies is scheduled to set out in the Ramadan month.
Syria 27.06.2013

The convoy named “Eid in Syria,” which is being organized by IHH as well as United Muslim, Children in Deen, is going to deliver humanitarian assistance to Syria that has been under bombardment for three years. Composed of ambulances, fire engines and refuse collection vehicles, the convoy will also be carrying to Syria desperately needed items such as medicine and medical equipment.

“Eid in Syria” volunteers, who are aiming to attract attention to the humanitarian drama in Syria and deliver emergency aid to people in the region, had organized similar convoys in the past and delivered hundreds of vehicles to the region. The volunteers will travel to Syria with a 250-member strong group and spend Eid al-Fitr with the war-stricken Syrians.

The convoy will consist of 100 vehicles and will be organized with contributions from both Muslim and non-Muslim international humanitarian aid volunteers. It will set out on the 15th of Ramadan and is expected to cross into Syria from Hatay-Reyhanlı border gate in Turkey by Eid al-Fitr.
