The IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation held a press conference at its headquarters to address the situation. Since April 2023, a violent civil war has been raging in Sudan between the army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). More than 25 million people have been affected by the conflict, resulting in the world’s largest internal displacement crisis.

IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation participated in the 8th International Humanitarian Studies Association (IHSA) Conference, held this year under the theme Humanitarianism in Crisis: New Realities in Practices and Knowledges. The conference took place simultaneously between Marmara University in Istanbul and the Chr. Michelsen Institute (CMI) in Norway from 15 to 17 October 2025, marking the first time it was organized in a multi-sited format.

In Gaza, which has turned into ruins as a result of the apartheid regime Israel’s systematic attacks, the IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation continues clean-up operations and distributes clean water to the people of Gaza.

Since the outbreak of the civil war on April 15, 2023, the IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation has delivered 333 containers of humanitarian aid materials to Sudan. So far, 4,645,535 people have benefited from these aid.

The Center for Humanitarian and Conflict Research (CHS), a Qatar-based organization active in the field of humanitarian aid, visited the headquarters of the IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation.

The IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation is providing ongoing support to 26,531 orphaned children in Palestine through its Orphan Sponsorship Program. Following the events of October 7, an additional 10,000 orphaned children were identified and added to the program. Of these, 4,700 are still in need of sponsors.

A press conference was held following Israel’s attack on the Freedom Flotilla, which set out to break the blockade on Gaza and deliver humanitarian aid. Speaking at the conference, İsmail Songür emphasized that all states must implement more serious sanctions against Israel.

The International Freedom Flotilla, carrying activists from 22 countries, is making its way toward Gaza aboard 11 ships loaded with humanitarian aid and medical supplies. The flotilla continues to sail through the Mediterranean with the aim of breaking the ongoing blockade and delivering life-saving assistance to civilians.

In the wake of devastating wildfires across Albania, the IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation has provided critical aid to affected communities. Relief supplies included food packages, drinking water, mattresses, blankets, and pillows delivered to families who lost homes or were forced to evacuate.

The internship program jointly held by IHH’s International Partnerships Department – Humanitarian Policy and Research Desk, and UK’s Bath University has been successfully completed. As part of the closing program, six postgraduate students who participated in the internship visited IHH Headquarters.

After a huge destruction due to decades-long wars and occupations, Afghanistan now faces a massive drought, particularly in the city of Paktika.

The IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation’s Disaster Management Department successfully carried out its 5th National Disaster Management Exercise in Ankara. Supported by 1,350 volunteers, the exercise included urban, water, and wilderness search and rescue operations.

15 non-governmental organizations within the Platform in Support of Palestine held a press conference to denounce the ongoing genocide in Gaza. During the event, the public was also invited to join a protest march scheduled for Saturday, August 9.

The forest fire that started on July 5 in the Bayır-Bucak area of Turkmen Mountain, located in the Latakia province of Syria, rapidly spread over a wide area due to the wind. Efforts to extinguish the fire are ongoing. Teams from İHH Disaster Management also mobilized to the fire zone to assist with the firefighting efforts.
