The IHH has started providing 3,000 needy people with clothes from the store it opened in Sakarya. About 10,000 pieces of clothes will be distributed to needy families that had already been designated
Turkey 11.01.2010

The IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation, which has achieved to reach out to impoverished people across Turkey, has begun distributing clothes to 3,000 people in the city of Sakarya. The foundation has opened a store from where it will distribute about 10,000 pieces of clothes to needy families within a week.

IHH local volunteer Ruhi Ademoğlu said they cooperated with several nongovernmental organizations to designate families in need of help. Ademoğlu said: “We are planning to reach out to 3,000 people with 10,000 pieces of clothes in Sakarya. We are managing this campaign in cooperation with NGOs such as Yetim Öksüz Çocukları Eğitim ve Yardımlaşma Derneği (YÖÇEYDER), Lösemi Çocukları Koruma Derneği (LÖSDER), Sakarya Kültür ve Sosyal Yardım Vakfı (SAKVA), İlim Yayma Cemiyeti and Anadolu Gençlik Derneği. The reason for cooperation is to reach needy families quickly. The store contains about 10,000 pieces of clothes for men and women, boys and girls and infants. It will remain open for a week and after that we are planning to visit districts of Sakarya to reach out to more impoverished people.”

Charitable people are welcomed to donate clothes to be distributed to needy people.
