Afghan orphans handed aid
The IHH was in occupied Afghanistan as part of a Ramadan campaign. It distributed food packs to 600 families and clothes to 500 orphans.
Afghanistan 26.08.2010

Afghanistan has always been associated with war and invasions, and it has been a venue for armed conflict for the last three decades. Consequently the country fell behind global development and its people were left destitute. As a venue for power struggles among external actors, Afghanistan was held back not only by wars but also by intermittent droughts.

The IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation, which has among its foundation goals to deliver aid to aggrieved people in regions hit by wars and occupations, has been supporting the Afghan people since 1996. Aid workers of the IHH were with Afghans this Ramadan. They distributed food packs to 600 needy families in Kabul, Jalalabad, and Takhar. Children are bearing the brunt of the ongoing war in Afghanistan. The IHH handed out clothes and stationery materials to 500 Afghan orphans.
