The people of the Gaza Strip, which came under heavy Israeli shelling almost a year ago, are spending another religious holiday with most of their problems yet to be resolved. Israeli-imposed embargo and blockade are still effective.
Hundreds of Gazan children who were made orphans in attacks are too sad to enjoy the holiday.
Moving to ease the suffering of Gazan orphans and their families, the IHH gave 1,200 orphans new clothes as gifts of Eid al-Adha.
The foundation is aiming to distributed clothes to all 8,000 orphans, whose caring it has assumed, by the end of Eid. The IHH Gaza Contact Office delivered each Gazan orphan 70 liras donated by sponsor families.
Orphans in various countries were given a hand
Clothes were distributed to 100 orphans in Arakan, 50 in Bangladesh, 50 in Mindanao-Philippines, 50 in Afghanistan, 50 in Sudan, 100 Ethiopia, 50 in Tajikistan, 50 in Kyrgyzstan, 30 in Tatarstan, 30 in Kazakhstan, 300 in Iraq, 50 in Kosovo and 80 in Macedonia.
Meanwhile, the IHH distributed clothes to 120 orphans in Istanbul and 30 in Ankara as part of aid campaign in support of Turkish orphans.
