Teams set out for Qurban campaign
Qurban teams of the IHH have set out for countries and regions to organize sacrificial slaughters and meat deliveries. They are aiming to experience another Qurban ritual with Muslims around the world
10.11.2010

Groups of volunteers from the IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation set out for different countries to sacrifice animals donated by charitable people. They will be organizing Qurban campaigns in Africa, the Middle East, the Central Asia, South Asia, East Asia, Eastern Europe, the Balkans and South America.

The teams will have to make hour-long flights to reach regions at the easternmost and westernmost points in the world. They were seen off with prayers at the IHH offices and will spend Eid al-Adha in the countries they are flying to.

The volunteers assigned to farthest regions left a week before Eid. The teams that left for far eastern Kamchatka region of Russia have arrived. Speaking about his first moments in Kamchatka, Orhan Şefik said the temperatures were below zero and everywhere was covered with snow and ice. The warm welcome of Kamchatka Muslims made us forget the freezing weather, Şefik added.

The IHH is sending remaining Qurban teams that include humanitarian aid volunteers to pre-designated countries and regions. May Allah help our Qurban volunteers to complete this journey peacefully.

Special interest in Pakistan

The IHH will prioritize Pakistan in this year’s Qurban campaign. A large team was sent to Pakistan to spread to areas that were affected by the floods. Animals will be sacrificed in every affected area and their meat will be distributed to victim families. Moreover, the completed permanent and prefabricated houses will be handed to the families.

IHH teams are aiming to experience another Qurban ritual with Muslims around the world as they have been doing for the past 19 years.
