Gaza blockade to be broken from inside
The International Freedom Flotilla Coalition whose supporters include IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation is preparing to set Gaza’s Ark sail from Gaza.
Palestine, Palestine-Gaza 19.12.2013

Gaza’s Ark, which was turned into a cargo ship from an old fishing boat jointly by the International Freedom Flotilla Coalition and non-governmental organizations in Gaza, is getting ready to set sail to the waters of the Mediterranean in order to break the Israeli blockade from inside.

The project, which aims to inject life to gradually shrinking marine industry and transfer the art of ship building to young generations, gives the opportunity to Gazan seamen to learn to use modern equipments and techniques.

Gaza’s Ark, which will set sail from Port of Gaza, the only port closed to fishing in the Mediterranean, will also serve as a bridge of exports for Gaza as goods manufactured in Gaza but cannot be traded due to the blockade, will reunite with international buyers.

Preparations for the Gaza’s Ark project, launched by Gazan fishermen and international activists so that the people of Gaza can reconstruct their economy and the illegitimate blockade of Israel on Gaza could be lifted, have been going on for one year. For detailed information and support, you can visit the http://www.gazaark.org/ web site.
