Take action to help our Palestinian sisters and brothers who are undergoing very difficult days.
Palestine, MiddleEast, Turkey 29.11.2012

Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip from sea, land and air lasted for eight days and left behind huge destruction.

The attacks killed 175 Gaza inhabitants and wounded 1,399. According to a report released by Gaza Health Ministry, 175 people, 50 children with 16 of them under age five and 12 women, were killed, and 1,399 people, 601 children with 141 of them under age five and 254 women, were wounded in the eight-day long Israeli bombardment. Twenty-seven wounded people are still in intensive care in hospitals and their condition remains critical, the reports said.

According to reports sent in by IHH team in Gaza, 500 houses were completely destroyed and 1,000 damaged in the bombardment. One school was destructed and four others suffered damage. Thirty-five mosques were irreparably damaged. Twenty government buildings were also destroyed in the strikes.

There was already a shortage of medical supplies in Gaza which has been suffering from Israeli blockade from land, sea and air since 2007. The medical supplies in the city are about to run out with the latest Israeli attacks.

HALF-A-MILLION-DOLLAR BUDGET FOR GAZA

IHH has allocated $560,000 budget for Gaza. This budget will be used to provide medical supplies and emergency aid items for Gaza inhabitants.

In addition, officials from IHH office in Gaza and doctors sent from Turkey continue treatment of the injured in the city.

Emergency aid teams from IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation and volunteer doctors from the Association of International Doctors (AID) are carrying on providing health services in Gaza.

Besides providing medical assistance to the people of Gaza, IHH is also offering food aid and other basic necessities to those whose homes were destroyed.

The foundation is going to build a 200-flat apartment block to provide accommodation to the Gaza residents who lost their homes in the bombardment.

200-FLAT BLOCK TO BE BUILT IN GAZA

Our foundation has been carrying out permanent housing projects such as houses, schools, teaching centers in Gaza for years. Feasibility studies for a building complex to house those whose homes were destroyed in the latest attacks on Gaza have been completed. The project plans five-storey buildings, 200 flats of 80 square-meters, to meet housing needs of 1,300 Gaza residents who lost their homes to attacks on Gaza between 2008 and 2012. The 10 buildings have been designed as symmetrical and each will be five floors high. The cost per 80-square-meter flat is estimated to be $25,000. The families who have suffered the most from poverty and war will be given priority in the allocation of the houses. Those who want to donate a house to war victims in Gaza can do so by contacting IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation.
