A Call for Urgent Humanitarian Aid Corridor to Gaza.
The IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation held a press conference regarding the recent developments in Palestine and the attacks by the occupying Israeli forces on Gaza, calling for the urgent opening of a humanitarian aid corridor to ensure the delivery of aid to Gaza.

The Israeli attacks on Gaza continues.

On the morning of October 7, a deadly attack was launched on Gaza using the events that occurred on the occupied territories as an excuse.

The Israeli attacks on civilian areas such as hospitals, places of worship and schools have led to a major humanitarian crisis in the already blockaded Gaza strip.

In responding to the recent developments and to call for the opening of a humanitarian aid corridor to Gaza, a press conference was held at IHH’s head office.

"We are once again facing Israeli terrorism"

In the press conference, IHH President Bülent Yıldırım stated, "The recent developments in the past few days have once again shown that Israel knows neither rights nor laws. Netanyahu shamelessly says that no war crime or international law matters to him. We are once again facing Israeli terrorism."

Yıldırım stated that the Mavi Marmara incident proofed Israel’s stance in regards to international law; Israel’s true face was seen by the whole world. He said, "Unfortunately, the world states and international law did not

go far enough against the unlawfulness committed by Israel on the Mavi Marmara. They acknowledged the rights of the Mavi Marmara, but did not prevent Israel's cruelty. Today, Israel’s oppression could have been prevented. But unfortunately, that was not the case."

Yıldırım pointed out that Israel aimed to depopulate Gaza with its attacks, saying, "Even before October 7, it was known that Israel was planning an attack on Gaza. So even if the events that occurred on the morning of October 7 had not happen, they would have still targeted Gaza. Because the main aim was to completely depopulate Gaza. For this reason, civilian settlements, hospitals, markets, and schools are being bombed in Gaza, where they do not allow the entry of electricity, water, fuel, and any humanitarian aid."

"A humanitarian aid corridor should be opened to Gaza"

Bülent Yıldırım emphasized the urgent need to open a humanitarian aid corridor to Gaza and made a call to the world:

"We can clearly see what Israel's purpose is. By attacking Gaza and preventing vital necessities from entering the region, they are trying to depopulate it. We can accept the evacuation of women and children for their safety. But we do not accept a corridor that would completely evacuate Gaza and bring it under Israeli control. Gaza will rise again. For this reason, we call on the whole world to urgently open a humanitarian aid corridor to Gaza."

"The Organization of Islamic Cooperation should urgently convene in Egypt for Gaza"

Yıldırım also called on the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to take action. "Israel's attacks must be stopped as soon as possible. The United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation should take decisive steps to end this oppression. We propose that the humanitarian aid corridor be opened through Egypt and that the next OIC meeting to be held in Egypt to support this corridor. You will see that if you stand tall, the whole world will rise against Israel's oppression. The Red Crescent and all aid organizations worldwide should take urgent action for Gaza."

Speaking at the press conference, the President of the Mavi Marmara Association İsmail Songür said, "We launched the Mavi Marmara before. If necessary, we can launch thousands more. But we want you to know that we seek justice, not revenge. We seek justice for all oppressed people in all regions."

2d0a1458.jpgAhmet Faruk Asa from the Digital Memory Center said, "Israel's 75-year-long attitude is the biggest problem in triggering a global peace crisis. With its strategy of dividing, fragmenting, and swallowing Palestine in particular, Israel wants to completely depopulate Gaza as well. Considering the historical and political circumstances, the fundamental reasons behind Israel's policies in Gaza today can be understood."

States must do what is necessary to stop the massacres in Gaza
A press conference titled “The Genocide Continues: Don’t Forget Gaza!” was held by the IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation. Speaking at the conference, IHH Secretary General Ahmet Göksun stated, “Just as states managed to stop the Israel-Iran war within 12 days, they must also do everything in their power to stop the massacres in Gaza. They owe this to humanity.” To the many journalists that attended the press conference held at the IHH headquarters, the first speaker, IHH Board of Trustees Member İzzet Şahin, emphasized that a great genocide and massacre is taking place in Gaza: “According to the US’ own admissions, bombs equivalent to the power of 6 nuclear bombs have been dropped on Gaza. The massacres in Gaza continue to take place. The blockade must be lifted immediately. For nearly 20 years, an unprecedented blockade has been imposed on Gaza. There were times when not even a glass of water could enter. Moreover, violence is used against civilians trying to break the blockade. Ships set out and are attacked in international waters. Others try to break the blockade by land and are prevented. If you are going to prevent these aid efforts, then you should deliver humanitarian aid yourselves. You must lift the blockade yourselves.”
