IHH participated in the 7th IHSA Humanitarian Studies Conference
IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation participated in the 7th IHSA Humanitarian Studies Conference held in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The foundation organized a panel titled "Collaboration and Partnership: Strengthening the Civil field through Coordination Mechanisms" as part of the conference event.

The 7th IHSA Humanitarian Studies Conference, which had participants from numerous countries, hosted several panels and discussion tables. Participants shared knowledge and experiences related to humanitarian aid during the conference, and discussions were held for new collaborations and projects between organizations.

On the first day of the conference, IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation organized a panel titled "Collaboration and Partnership: Strengthening the Civil Sector through Coordination Mechanisms." The panel, moderated by Dr. Durmuş Aydın, the Secretary-General of IHH, featured 5 speakers from Türkiye, Cuba, Congo, and Libya.

The panel focused on the collaboration mechanisms between civil society organizations, international institutions, governments, and local actors. The speakers and the topics of their presentations were as follows:

- İrfan Tatlı, IHH Human Rights Unit

Collaboration and its impact on migration policies between the state and civil society organizations in Türkiye.

 

- Carla Vitantonio, CARE Cuba Representative

The concept of "globalization" and its effects on international development and humanitarian aid efforts.

- Delu Lusambya, ISS Humanitarian Studies Researcher (Congo)

Experiences of humanitarian aid  actors in combating the Ebola virus in conflict-affected areas.

- Salih Omer, Human Rights Lawyer (Libya)

Contributions of local civil society organizations in Libya to social awareness and conflict resolution.

 

- Talha Keskin, IHH Board Member Responsible for International Relations

Views on the intervention coordination mechanism formed after the earthquake in Türkiye.

In 2025, IHH built 1,156 water wells in 18 countries.
In 2025, the IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation built water wells in 18 countries. While 1,009 wells were opened during the year, construction work continues on the remaining 147. In total, the foundation has opened 16,430 water wells in 44 countries in the last 25 years, including the newly opened ones.
