IHH distributed qurbani meats to people in need in 66 countries

IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation delivered 102,266 shares of sacrificial animals to needy people in 66 countries. The foundation also gifted Eid clothes to 42,245 orphaned and needy children in 16 countries.

HH Humanitarian Relief Foundation conducted sacrificial animal activities in 66 countries this year. IHH distributed 102,266 shares of qurbani animals to beneficiaries across 4 continents.

Giving particular emphasis to its efforts for Palestine and Gaza this Eid al-Adha, IHH aimed to distribute 43,615 shares of sacrificial animals to the region. Due to the harsh conditions caused by the apartheid regime's occupation and massacres in Israel, a portion of the animals slaughtered outside Palestine will be canned, while others will be frozen and delivered to Gaza. With planned distributions in Gaza, the foundation will have delivered sacrificial meat to over 4 million people as part of its 2024 Eid al-Adha activities.

42,245 children celebrated with Eid clothes

The foundation also made children happy by gifting Eid clothes to 42,245 orphaned and needy children in 16 countries, contributing to their happiness. The countries where Eid clothes were distributed are as follows: Turkey, Afghanistan, Arakan, Bangladesh, Burkina Faso, Iraq, Iran, Montenegro, Kyrgyzstan, Kosovo, Lebanon, Sudan, Syria, Thailand, Tunisia, and Yemen.

States must do what is necessary to stop the massacres in Gaza

A press conference titled “The Genocide Continues: Don’t Forget Gaza!” was held by the IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation. Speaking at the conference, IHH Secretary General Ahmet Göksun stated, “Just as states managed to stop the Israel-Iran war within 12 days, they must also do everything in their power to stop the massacres in Gaza. They owe this to humanity.” To the many journalists that attended the press conference held at the IHH headquarters, the first speaker, IHH Board of Trustees Member İzzet Şahin, emphasized that a great genocide and massacre is taking place in Gaza: “According to the US’ own admissions, bombs equivalent to the power of 6 nuclear bombs have been dropped on Gaza. There were times when not even a glass of water could enter. Moreover, violence is used against civilians trying to break the blockade. Ships set out and are attacked in international waters. Others try to break the blockade by land and are prevented. If you are going to prevent these aid efforts, then you should deliver humanitarian aid yourselves. You must lift the blockade yourselves.”

The Future of Humanitarian Aid Discussed at ECOSOC HAS 2025

At a side event held as part of the ECOSOC Humanitarian Affairs Segment (HAS) 2025 in Geneva, the future of humanitarian aid was addressed with a focus on localization, community leadership, and justice-based approaches. Dr. Durmuş Aydın, Secretary General of IHH (The Foundation for Human Rights and Freedoms and Humanitarian Relief), participated as a speaker in the panel.

IHH Reached Millions in Need During Eid al-Adha

For 2025 Eid al-Adha, IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation delivered 112,207 qurbani meat shares from our donors to nearly 142,000 people in need across 60 countries. Thanks to our donors, IHH was also able to gift holiday clothing to 41,601 orphans and underprivileged children in 15 countries.
