IHH Distributes Stationery Sets to 10,000 Students in 22 Countries
The IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation is distributing stationery to orphans and children in need as the new school year begins. Through this initiative, the foundation aims to provide support to 10,000 children in 22 countries.
Syria, Turkey, Yemen 14.09.2026

The foundation aims to share in the excitement of going back to school with children who face difficulties accessing education and struggle with financial hardships. With the start of the new academic year and thanks to the support of donors, the school supply kits—valued at 1,500 TL—given as gifts to orphans and underprivileged students contain all the basic supplies a student will need throughout the year. The school backpacks to be gifted to the children contain notebooks, a pencil case, pencil and ballpoint pens, an eraser, a pencil sharpener, a set of rulers, colored pencils, and various other stationery supplies.

“Together, we are striving to lay the foundations for a world of kindness”

Speaking about the foundation’s stationery initiatives, Reşat Başer, Vice President of the IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation, said, “As the IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation, we have completed our preparations for the 2026–2027 academic year and are continuing our efforts. As IHH, we are striving to carry out these distribution efforts by prioritizing the education of our children—especially those in Türkiye—as well as the children in regions where, unfortunately, conflicts are escalating day by day. Stationery sets are among the most basic and essential needs for education. In carrying out this initiative, we are specifically targeting children living in orphanages, orphans we support while they remain with their families, and those in need in regions affected by various disasters and calamities,” he said.

Continuing his remarks, Başer said, “When we look at the world today, unfortunately, children in Yemen, Lebanon, Syria, the Rakhine camps, Bangladesh, Bangsamoro, Niger, Sudan, and countless other challenging regions are struggling to survive under difficult conditions. Through these educational aid efforts, we are actually striving to prepare them for life and to lay the foundations for a compassionate world together. For this reason, we are fully aware of the importance of this work. God willing, we will continue with determination to deliver the prepared school supply aid to those in need,” he said.

At the start of the school year, tens of thousands of children in various regions are in need of school supply kits. With these kits—which will be distributed to children in need, primarily orphans—the goal is to reach 30,000 children if additional support is received.
