Turkey 11.11.2011

IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation launched extensive relief effort after the 7.2-magnitude earthquake had struck Van Province and caused large damage in the town of Erciş. Search and rescue teams of the foundation worked vigorously and managed to pull nine individuals out of the rubble alive.

IHH primarily converged relief efforts in the town of Erciş, however directed some of its teams to Van city center after the recent 5.6 earthquake.

The foundation also sent its mobile kitchen trailer to Van. The mobile kitchen will  provide daily hot meal  to 8,000 people who lost their homes due to the earthquake or who are too scared to use their homes due to the after effects.
