Umut Bilgin, IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation Middle East and North Africa Unit Coordinator, explained the aid activities of the foundation in Lebanon.
Bilgin said, “We distributed aids such as fuel, blankets, carpets, beds, propane cylinders and stoves in Sur, Sayda, Beirut, Bekaa and Baalbek regions of Lebanon and 4,056 families benefited from these aids.”
Bilgin said that 2,105 families were given coupons to buy winter clothes in the regions where the aids were distributed and added, “Some of the water tanks were damaged during the war in the Sur region. Because of this, clean water does not reach many regions. So we purchased a water tanker. Thanks to this tanker, water from water wells will be delivered to families in the region.”
Bilgin stated that 9 non-governmental organizations, including IHH, sent a ship carrying 1000 tons of various aid materials to Lebanon during the period when the occupying Israel's attacks continued, and their distribution continues.
IHH's humanitarian aid efforts in Lebanon continue.
According to the Lebanese Ministry of Health, since October 8, 2023, at least 4,061 people, including 1,106 women and children and 222 health staff, have been killed and 16,661 people have been injured in the attacks of the apartheid regime Israel.
