The IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation dispatched a ship loaded with 1,000 tons of relief materials to Gaza after sending three cargo planes load of humanitarian materials.
The ship was set out from Zeytinburnu port of Istanbul and will dock at Egyptian port of al-Arish. The humanitarian will be loaded to trucks and trailers here and will be sent to Gaza through Rafah border crossing.
Speaking during the departure ceremony at the Zeytinburnu port, IHH deputy president Yavuz Dede said: "We previously sent three aircrafts loaded with relief materials. And now we are sending a ship loaded with 1,000 tons of humanitarian stuff such as powdered milk, infant formula, diaper, foodstuff, medication, medical equipment and generators to Gaza. The IHH has so far sent humanitarian aid worth 10 million Turkish liras to Gaza and will continue to help. The humanitarian tragedy is ongoing in Gaza despite the ceasefire. Gazan residents, who lost their homes in the offensive, need our help. We should ease the suffering of Gazans and rebuild Gaza together."
Ali Gür, vice president of the Independent Industrialists and Businessmen’s Association (MÜSİAD), and Akif Bayramoğlu, secretary of the Association of Anatolian Businessmen (ASKON) said they would continue to send aid to the people of Gaza.
