Heavy rain in Eastern Anatolia caused massive flooding in the city of Agrı. Hundreds of homes and workplaces were inundated by the floodwaters from Taslicay and Murat Rivers and a bridge collapsed. A child was killed during the flood.

Immediately after the disastrous flood, government officials and aid organizations rushed off to the region to help out the families hit by the disaster. IHH (The Foundation For Human Rights And Freedoms And Humanitarian Relief) teams arrived in the region soon after the disaster. Teams first visited the families in 100. Yil neighborhood which is one of the regions that the flood affected the most. Food, blankets, clothing and kitchen items were distributed to 66 families. After carrying out extensive analysis in the region, the teams continue to carry out relief work for the benefit of flood-stricken families.

IHH-UN’s Comprehensive Cash and In-Kind Support Project for Families in Syria
As a result of the collaboration between the İHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation and the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs' Syria Cross-Border Humanitarian Fund (SCHF), a total of 371,475 USD in cash assistance and 3,450 food parcels were distributed over the period of 9 months to 1,150 families living in the Racu region of Afrin district in Syria.
