IHH has helped close to 4.5 million Syrians in the inner districts of Syria, who need aid in the first 15 days of Ramadan. Many of these packs have come from Turkey and abroad.
In Syria, the attacks on the civilians continue forcing many to evacuate resulting in many who are now in need of assistance. The IHH teams continue to distribute the aid in areas that are needed.
The IHH Syrian Media and Communication Supervisor Burak Karacaoglu, explained that they have received aid from 27 international aid agencies from a total of 15 different countries. These were part of the “I Need You” campaign held in Ramadan which enabled 250 aid trucks to be sent to Syria.
“During the sacred month of Ramadan, it is our greatest wish for our Muslim brethren to pass it with ease” said Karacaoglu, adding that, “In many areas of war torn Syria, we must not leave our Muslim brothers and sisters alone. One of the most important duties of our foundation is to offer the iftar and sahur meals for them. In order to pass the Ramadan, we have been able to deliver packets of rice, pasta, lentils, cracked wheat, oil, tomato paste, dates, milk, biscuits, drinking water and baby food and wear, filling 250 trucks delivering them to Syria. Our goal for the month of Ramadan is for this to reach 1,000 trucks."
