IHH’s winter campaign themed “Goodness withstands the cold” has finalized the distribution of coal, blankets, mattresses, food parcels, coats and boots to war victim families in Syria's Idlib, Afrin, Azez and Jarablus. More than 15.000 people benefited from the aid.
IHH’s Media coordinator for Syria Operations Selim Tosun stated that they have been delivering humanitarian assistance to tens of thousands of people throughout the winter season.
Tosun said, “We have completed our winter campaign that we conducted between December 1, 2023 and February 22, 2024. With the support of our donors we could help many families protect themselves from the cold during the winter season.”
15.744 Families
Tosun explained that 15.744 families were provided with assistance within the scope of winter relief efforts:
“During our winter campaign, we distributed 3.303 tons of coal, 34.874 blankets, 22.000 coats, 37.000 pairs of boots, 4.000 mattresses, 3.139 stoves and 8.171 food parcels in Idlib, Afrin, Azez and Jarablus regions of Syria. 4.608 families benefited (from this aid). We would like to thank our donors for their support.’’
IHH has been carrying out humanitarian aid activities in Syria since the civil war began in 2011.
