Since April 15, 2023, Sudan has been experiencing a civil war between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). With 25.6 million people affected by the civil war, 7.8 million people have been forced to migrate to different locations within the country, while 2.1 million people have migrated to neighboring countries. Facing one of the largest migration crises in recent years, the people of Sudan are confronted with hunger, famine, and diseases. Due to the almost completely collapsed healthcare system in the country, cholera cases are rapidly increasing. There is a significant need for humanitarian aid in many areas across Sudan.
3,800 Hot Meals Distributed Daily
The IHH continues its aid efforts in Sudan, which began immediately after the outbreak of the civil war. To date, we have established two kitchens in the capital Khartoum, and the city of Gedaref. In these kitchens, 2,800 daily hot meals are prepared in Khartoum while 1,000 daily hot meals are prepared in Gedaref. So far, a total of 20,635 hot meals have been distributed. We have also distributed a total of 20,340 food packages and 19,778 hygiene packages in Khartoum, Gedaref, and Port Sudan. In addition, during the last week of August, we distributed sacrificial meat to 625 families in Gedaref and 625 families in Darfur.
The IHH shall continue its relief efforts in the region.,
