Nairobi ambassador visit IHH camp in Dadaab
The IHH carries on relief efforts in central and southern regions of Somalia as well as in Dadaab camp in Kenya. Turkish ambassador to Nairobi visited the IHH camp and tents in Dadaab.

Tuncer Kayalar, Turkish ambassador to Nairobi, Kenya, paid a visit to Dadaab camp to observe aid efforts of the IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation on site. The foundation’s aid teams shared food and health aid to needy people at the camp and the foundation’s future projects with the ambassador. 

Following a briefing by IHH aid coordinator Ömer Kesmen at the IHH camp in Dadaab, ambassador Kayalar headed for IHH-AID (the Association of International Doctors) tents at Dagahaley camp to observe aid efforts. 

The ambassador was moved by the situation of thousands of sick refugees lining in front of health tents and talked to the doctors about their efforts. He also visited IHH workers at Hagadera camp and helped with distribution of food packs to needy refugees. The IHH distributed food packs to 12,000 refugees at Hagadera camp. 

The ambassador expressed appreciation for IHH aid efforts in the region. He thanked our workers and volunteers for their efforts and said that contacts and talks with the government would be stepped up in order to improve and expand relief efforts. The ambassador also said the Turkish embassy in Nairobi was ready to offer help to the IHH.

In coordination with AFAD, the IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation has sent 13 lorries of aid materials for civilians affected by the ongoing civil war in Sudan, to be delivered by ship.
