People of every age are concerned about the humanitarian tragedy unfolding in the Gaza Strip. A number of students from Istanbul schools contributed to the IHH aid campaign for Gaza by donating their allowances.
Students from Bağcılar Akşemsettin Anadolu High-school handed 2,000 Turkish liras (TL) they have saved from their allowances to the IHH to be sent to the Gazan people.
Speaking on behalf of the students, Zeki Tuğrul said "We as members of the student council decided to do something about the humanitarian tragedy in Gaza to show our concerns. Almost every student in the school donated a certain amount from their allowances. We want the IHH to extend this money to Gaza. We hope it will help to meet basic necessities of our brothers and sisters there."
Bahçelieveler Private Şefkat Primary School students also donated their allowances to the IHH.
"We know this is a small amount, but we hope it will help the distressed people of Palestine. Gazan students cannot even leave their houses, while we can attend the school in security here. Some were even killed in their houses," the students said while handing the money to the foundation.
A group of students from Ümraniye Private İrfan Primary School donated TL 5,510 and $200 to the IHH. It is noteworthy that primary school students could raise such an amount.
Birikim College students also donated their allowances to the IHH to be sent to Palestine
