The Şerefoğlu Islamic and Social Complex was opened in Douala, which is one of the most important trade centers and most-populated cities in the country. The complex allows the Muslims in the region to hold prayers collectively and in a more appropriate venue. In addition, students receive education from the school at the complex which has seven classrooms.
700 people can pray simultaneously at the complex, which is also the largest masjid in the region.
Adem Hamid, one of the opinion leaders in the Douala Dotbasi region voiced his happiness over the service made by the IHH charity givers in the region. “This facility does not only hold a light to our mortal lives but also to our after-life. This facility which has also won the appreciation of the Christians in the region meets the people’s need for clean and healthy water. 36 people have converted to Islam thanks to this facility so far and we hope this figure will increase in the future. We offer our thanks to our benevolent brothers and sisters in Turkey,” he said.
