IHH has completed the construction of AnadoluEğitimMerkezi (Anatolian Education Center) in Mogadishu which will serve as the largest orphanage in the country. The inauguration of the center was made by Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamoud, Turkish ambassador to Somalia Dr. Kani Torun and IHH deputy chairman HasanAynacı.
IHH has been continuing to support Somali orphans who have been living under the shadow of a civil war for the past two decades.
In this regard, the foundation has sponsored the construction of an education center in Mogadishu that will meet various needs of the orphans.
There is a school building, administrative buildings, a Quran course, a building housing bedrooms, a sports hall, a mosque, a health center and a dining hall in the education center.
Theeducation center which was built on an area of 10,000 square-meters, will provide accommodation to 400 students while 1,500 students will be able to receive education.
Students from every tribe in the country are accepted in the school with an aim to end long-lasting clashes among the tribes in the country.
IHH, which has been taking relief to Somalia for the past 16 years, has so far extended a helping hand to Somali people in need for many times through projects such as the Agricultural School Project, Cataract Project and Water Well Project.
