The IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation is carrying on drilling water wells in Africa, where water resources are limited. The foundation drilled seven new water wells in Somalia.
The new water wells that were drilled in Lower Shabelle and Hiran regions were funded by charitable people from Turkey. About 10,000 people will benefit from the new wells. Local people will provide water both for drinking and for their cattle. They were gratified over the drilling of wells and expressed their thanks to people of Turkey. The wells were named after their donators. The names are as follows: Bülbülzade Vakfı I; İsmail Water Well, Serap-Nuri Yaşar Water Well, Celal-Hüsna-Fikret Genç-Sedat Yerigün, Faruk Ambarcıoğlu water wells, Hz. Hatice water wells and N.K.H 1957.
924 water wells to Africa
The IHH has so far drilled 924 water wells in Ethiopia, Somalia, Burkina Faso, Niger, Djibouti, Chad, Sudan, Sierra Leone, Guinea, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan; Four more wells are currently being drilled.
