Around the world there are around four hundred million orphan children who lost their parents for various reasons. Every year millions of children are trafficked by human traffickers, organ mafia and prostitution rings or used by missionary organizations. Orphanages are vitally important to protect orphan children from risky environment. IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation on behalf of Turkey cares for orphans at thirty-two orphanages that it opened in eleven countries

IHH, which currently shelters 2.350 orphans in its orphanages, does not only meet accommodation needs of orphans. With the support of donors IHH facilitates teaching students Quran by heart (hifz) in some of these orphanages.
