Fatih Sultan Mehmet Orphanage opened
IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation, which establishes orphanages across various countries in the world, has launched yet another orphanage. The inauguration of the 15th orphanage, whose construction was completed by IHH, took place in Bangladesh last week. The orphanage is named “Fatih Sultan Mehmet,” an Ottoman Sultan who is popularly known as Mehmet the Conqueror.

Travelling to the region for the inauguration of the orphanage, an IHH team delivered food relief to the families who were affected by Storm Mahasen which hit the region recently.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Konya AYDER President HidayetYılmaz and leading local figures.

Being the fifth orphan accommodation complex which has been opened this year, Fatih Sultan Mehmet Orphanage is located in Mohiskali Island of Cox Bazar. The orphanage which will provide accommodation to 26 orphan girls is located just at the center of the island. In the orphanage, which is adjacent to a mosque and school, there are bedrooms, a kitchen, a dining room, study rooms, administrative units and play areas for the children.

Fatih Sultan Mehmet Orphanage, which was opened following Togra and Darul Iman orphanages IHH opened in Bangladesh, is the first building constructed for orphan children in Cox Bazar region. IHH is also continuing the constructions of Babul Amman and II. Abdulhamid Solidarity orphanages in Dhaka and Gazipur.
