Since the foundation of the Zionist Israel, the humanitarian crisis has been continuing in all around Palestine and particularly in Gaza Strip which is under the blockade of Israel since 2006. IHH, Humanitarian Relief Foundation continues its relief works in the region without slowing down. In this regard, IHH has taken action with an emergency code to provide humanitarian aid in the month of Ramadan to the wounded, the families in need and to the families of the martyrs who were killed by Israeli soldiers during the protests in Palestine after the USA moved its so-called embassy to Jerusalem.
IHH, in the first place;
- will provide financial aid to the 200 wounded who were shot by the Israeli soldiers during the Return March and to the the families of the martyrs
- will provide assistance in cases of sending the wounded to the hospitals
- will give support to the hospitals where the wounded are medically treated and the health centers. The wounded will also be given medical treatment.
Gaza will not be forgotten in Ramadan
Becoming the top priority target of Israel, Gaza will also benefit from the Ramadan donations of IHH. As part of Ramadan donations, IHH also in the first place in Gaza;
- will give iftar dinner for 1.500 people daily
- will provide food parcels for 4.375 families
- will deliver fitra and zakat to 400 families
No electricity in Gaza
Under the embargo, Gaza gets only four hours of electricity a day. The most affected are the hospitals and the patients in the intensive care units. In addition to all donations, IHH installs solar energy panels to the Jenin Hospital in Gaza where electricity is frequently cut off, besides providing fuel aid to the hospitals.
The IHH Gaza Office is active since 2009
The IHH Gaza Office was established with the aim of managing the relief works on site in 2009 after the attack named by the occupying Israel as “Operation Cast Lead” and killed more than a thousand Palestinians. Emergency relief works, psychological support programs, vocational training, training and orphan activities are also carried out at the office. IHH distributes hot meals in Gaza via Mavi Marmara Martyrs Soup-Kitchen which was opened in 2006, by IHH. The soup-kitchen continues to provide meals five days a week. 300 people are provided hot meals on daily basis and 72 thousand Gazaian people benefit from this project per year. Also, the number of orphans that IHH supports monthly by means of 2.500 people also benefit from the Ottoman Cultural Center of IHH in Gaza per year. Also, the number of orphans that IHH supports monthly by means of Orphan Sponsorship System is 15.161
