The pro-Israeli stance adopted by the United States regarding the attack on Gaza has caused significant global reactions.
To protest the US' stance and to echo the voices of the people of Gaza to the world, IHH organized the "Freedom Convoy for Palestine". The convoy departed from Ataturk Olympic Stadium with the participation of numerous representatives of civil society organizations as well as citizens.
Before the convoy's departure, IHH President Bülent Yıldırım stated, "In this action, we have participants from many countries. Today, we want to give the world a chance to put an end to bloodshed and tears. By revealing the true face of the 800 US bases and exposing their true intentions, we aim to unite the peoples of the world and demonstrate a stance against America through them."
Yıldırım also emphasized the significance of the support given to Gaza through protests held in public squares and called on people keep protesting for the sake of children, women, and the elderly. He said, "Currently, very little aid is able to enter Gaza. Only few injured individuals are being evacuated. They are doing this forcibly due to the reaction of the peoples of the world. They are checking the pulse of the peoples of the world. We will put an end to this imperialist and Zionist game. Therefore, we call on all peoples of the world to rise up. Do not leave the squares for the children, women, and the elderly."
Özgür-Der President Rıdvan Kaya stated, "In Gaza, not only Palestinians, but humanity itself is being massacred. In the face of this oppression, there are people worldwide who stand for justice and rights, regardless of being Muslims, Christians, Jews, or followers of other faiths. We commend them."
Ann Wright, the Organizer of the Gaza Freedom Flotilla said, "I am here for the meeting of the International Committee to Free Gaza and Lift the Blockade, consisting of 10 countries. Today, we are together with delegations from countries such as the United States, Canada, Sweden, Norway, Malaysia, and South Africa. I would like to announce from here that we are preparing another ship to lift the blockade in Gaza in 2024. We thank all of you for organizing such a convoy."
The Freedom Convoy for Palestine will reach Kocaeli and Ankara on November 3, 2023, Konya on November 4, 2023, and Incirlik Air Base in Adana on November 5, 2023.
