The project has been launched thanks to the efforts of the IHH’s female volunteers. Personal enhancement sessions, awareness raising sessions on family, social awareness programs and excursions have been held for the children and families of Gaza as part of the project. Around 3,200 people, most of whom are children, have been given psychological support in the project.
Israeli military operations and blockade deal the biggest harm to women and children in Gaza. While the women and children try to survive under severe circumstances, the effects of the ongoing conflicts cause injuries in their hearts which are not curable.
The IHH’s psychological support programs carried out by experts aim to help children to establish effective communication skills, enhance their self-confidence and help their character development. As part of the awareness raising sessions on family, experts paid visits to 675 families, reaching out around 2,000 people. During these meetings, experts proposed parents the importance of developing a realist approach to daily events, explained them the importance of the awareness of family and proposed them solutions about children who wet their beds. As part of the project, two excursions were organized so that the children could have some fun and get rid of stress.
