Sudan 23.10.2025

Due to the ongoing civil war in Sudan, more than 20 million people are struggling with hunger. Since the clashes began on April 15, 2023, 13 million people have been displaced, creating one of the largest migration crises in the world. The majority of those living in refugee camps are women and children. Civilians deprived of basic necessities are struggling to survive, facing serious difficulties in accessing food, clean water, hygiene supplies, healthcare, and education services.

The IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation has been continuously carrying out aid operations for the region since the first day of the conflict. The foundation sent 260 containers of aid supplies aboard two “Goodness Ships”, and in total, has delivered 333 containers of aid to Sudan. The distribution of food packages at a refugee camp in Port Sudan was attended by Fatih Yıldız, the Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Sudan.

“We Will Not Leave Sudan Alone”

Ambassador Yıldız, who took part in the food package distribution, stated:

“We are currently in Port Sudan, standing by displaced people. We are here for the distribution of packages, mainly consisting of food items, sent by donors from Türkiye. In this camp, there are people who were forced to flee from many regions in Sudan, especially from Darfur, due to the ongoing war. As always, IHH continues its meticulous efforts to deliver aid materials to different camps. Today we are in Port Sudan, but in the coming days, distributions will continue across the country. With the latest shipment, the total number of containers delivered by IHH has reached 333. God willing, both the Republic of Türkiye and the Turkish people will not leave Sudan alone until this humanitarian tragedy comes to an end.” 2.jpg
