IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation aims to carry out more than 350 projects in 41 countries and regions in the world and help more than 60,000 orphans with the Orphan Solidarity Days that is to be organized 4th time in the months of February, March and April.
Already supporting about 40 thousand orphans periodically and regularly, IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation have been organizing a big humanitarian aid campaign since 2011 titled “Orphan Solidarity Days”. With the organization carried out once in year, working in 39 countries and regions in the world including Turkey, IHH supported ten thousands of orphans with the 266 projects realized for the orphans in all fields from education to healthcare and from social support activities to emergency relief and from cultural activities to vocational education and development projects for three years.
149 projects out of 350 projects prepared for 2014 Orphan Solidarity Days will be carried out in the cities in Turkey as Adana, Ankara, Antalya, Batman, Bitlis, Bursa, Diyarbakır, Elazığ, Erzincan, İskenderun, İstanbul, İzmir, Kahramanmaraş, Kastamonu, Kayseri, Kocaeli, Konya, Mardin, Mersin, Sakarya, Sivas, Şanlıurfa, Trabzon, Uşak, Van, Yalova and Zonguldak.
197 projects will be carried in Afghanistan, Arakan, Albania, Bangladesh, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Burkina Faso, Djibouti, Chad, Checenia, Indonesia, Ethiopia, Philippians, Palestine, Ghana, Georgia, Haiti, Iraq, Kazakstan, Kashmir, Kyrgyzstan, Kosovo, Lebanon, Macedonia, Mısır, Mauritania, Nepal, Pakistan, Preševo, Ruanda, Sanjak, Sierra Leone, Somali, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Syria, Tajikistan, Tanzania, Thailand, Yemen and Ecuador. Among these there are social aid projects and improvement projects as donations of sewing machines to Somalia, groceries to Gaza, reconstructions of the family houses of the orphans living in Turkey.
IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation pointed out that within the scope of the 350 projects to be carried out in 2014 Orphan Solidarity Days, 20,769 orphan children in Turkey and 44,274 abroad will benefit.
