In the 40th session of Council of Foreign Ministers held in Conakry, Republic of Guinea on 9-11 February 2013, the General Secretariat of Organization of Islamic Conference conferred consultative status to IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation from Turkey along with 12 other humanitarian relief organizations for their relief activities in Muslim communities. Islamic Conference Humanitarian Activities Department (ICHAD) commented that they are glad that the consultative status they have requested for IHH was granted.
ICHAD is planning to hold a brief meeting for drawing a road map in order to make the humanitarian activities of the organizations granted consultative status by OIC easier as a part of ICHAD’s own work.
OIC General Secretariat would like to take advantage of the situation in order to increase its activities. The organizations which received consultative status will play an important role in humanitarian relief activities in Islamic countries and in catastrophes in different parts of the world. Following its consultative status at UN, IHH’s second and prestigious recognition as consultant by an international organization like OIC will make a great contribution to the humanitarian activities of Turkish donors carried out in international level. This latest development confirmed the significant status of our foundation in international humanitarian relief activities in spite of failed attempts of smear campaign.
