Haniyeh hosted representatives from Turkish aid associations at his home. Offering his thanks to Turkish people for their support to Palestine, he said: “The blood of the martyrs on Mavi Marmara marked the beginning of our victory.”
Haniyeh shook hands with each of the guests at his home and said, “Welcome” to them. Representatives from the IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation, Doctors of Earth and the Cansuyu Aid and Solidarity Association were in attendance at the meeting where Haniyeh delivered a speech.
In his speech, the prime minister said: “Turkey has always been with us and it continues to do so. Turkish people have always given material support to us. With the Mavi Marmara incident, we saw that they are also with Gaza and Palestine with their blood and bodies. I offer my thanks to them for the support they have given to us.”
Noting that a ceasefire reached between Israel and Hamas is the definite victory of Gaza, Haniyeh said the blood of Mavi Marmara martyrs marked the beginning of this victory. He said they expected a major attack on Gaza from Israel in 2010 but the Mavi Marmara movement stopped this attack.

“The blood of the Mavi Marmara martyrs has reached Gaza. Turkish people have been with us with their bodies and material support,” he said.
Offering his thanks to all the aid associations in Gaza, Haniyeh said: “You have always been with us during our difficult times. You have shown that the Palestinian issue is not only the problem of us but also the entire ummah. We will never forget this.”
Speaking on behalf of the IHH team, Emergency Aid Coordinator Recep Güzel said IHH has always been with Gaza and Palestine. Güzel said he brought the greetings of Mavi Marmara passengers, families of the Mavi Marmara martyrs and Mavi Marmara veterans, adding that Turkish people have always been with the people of Palestine.
Güzel said IHH’s efforts will continue until Gaza and Jerusalem have their independence.
“May Allah set your feet fixed during the course of your resistance,” Güzel added.
Following the speeches, Haniyeh gave come gifts to his guests.
