The campaign that IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation started with the support of Ministry of National Education and Directorate of Religious Affairs has been attracting great attention throughout Turkey.

The project which has been used to meet the education, healthcare, nutrition, clothing and sheltering needs of the orphan children and which has been drawing considerable interest of the students from primary, elementary and high school education levels has reached 1,105 schools in 76 cities in Turkey and 3,277 orphans throughout the world.

Starting with the slogan of “Classes Competing For Good Deeds”, the project of “Each Class Has an Orphan Fellow” supports children who lost their mothers/fathers because of wars, natural disasters, poverty and illness and etc. in Turkey and abroad.

Cities Participating in the Campaign

Within the scope of the campaign, while Istanbul has been the pioneer city supporting the campaign with the highest number of orphans which is 1303 with 234 schools, other districts of Turkey participating in the project are as:

Sakarya, Ankara, Bursa, Konya, Samsun, Rize, Aksaray, Kocaeli, Gaziantep, Trabzon, Hatay, Sivas, Düzce, Afyon, Balıkesir, Tokat, Elazığ, Mardin, Yozgat, Antalya, İzmir, Kütahya, Kahramanmaraş, Ordu, Van, Isparta, Bayburt, Çanakkale, Erzurum, Zonguldak, Kayseri, Çankırı, Manisa, Nevşehir, Aydın, Bilecik, Şanlıurfa, Adıyaman, Batman, Eskişehir, Bolu, Giresun, Burdur, Erzincan, Çorum, İzmit, Mersin, Yalova, Karabük, Niğde, Tekirdağ, Uşak, Kastamonu, Adana, Amasya, Artvin, Bitlis, Muğla, Sinop, Şırnak, Kırklareli, Malatya, Denizli, Gümüşhane, Muş, Bartın Edirne, Iğdır, Osmaniye, Ardahan, Bingöl, Hakkâri, Karaman, Kırıkkale, Siirt.

How does the Project Run?

Teachers of the students applies IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation in order to be sponsor for an orphan or more orphans who live in the countries within the scope of Orphan Sponsorship Support System of IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation as Palestine, Iraq, Lebanon, Yemen, Syria, Burkina Faso, Somali, Sierra Leone, Ethiopia, Chad, Ghana, Sudan, Tanzania, Djibouti, Mauritania, Malawi, Ruanda, Aceh, Pakistan, Arakan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Philippines-BangsaMoro, Afghanistan, Patani, Kashmir, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Chechnya, Crimea, Georgia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Albania, Preševo, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Ecuador, Haiti, Turkey, Nepal, Egypt, Zimbabwe and the students as a class support financially their orphan fellow collecting 90 Turkish Liras each month as long as a year at least. Additionally they can be sponsor for an orphan filling the orphan sponsorship file themselves.

Starting with the slogan of “Classes Competing For Good Deeds”, the project of “Each Class Has an Orphan Fellow” aims to grow our children beginning from the small ages as sensitive individuals who are conscious, charitable, sharing the grief of others.
