With your support we are carrying our relief efforts in order to prevent fatal diseases and deaths in Somalia. The wells that we build with your donations help 10,000 people to survive the drought.
How Do We build Deep Water Wells in Somalia?
We carry out ground study following the identification of the spot of the well demanded by the community. Afterwards we drill 150-200-metre deep for artesian flow. Following the pebble-work and cleaning the well the groundwater is analyzed. If the tests are positive that the water is clean and healthy the pipeline and the pump is installed in the well.
A 9-metre high 40-ton concrete storehouse is built to keep the abstracted groundwater. Around 50 solar panels are installed to save the energy and a power generator room is built.
Our work does not end there. We also build a water line to water the plantations. Plenty of foundations are set up in order to let dozens of people get water at the same time. Moreover three watering troughs in varying heights are built to let cattle and livestock drink water.
Now the deep water well is ready. A well that is built in this structure can serve up to 10,000 people.
Each water well that offer a permanent solution to the drought costs 154,000 USD thanks to the donations of charitable sponsors. You can contribute to any water well project through your donations and give water to the region that suffer deaths due to the drought.
