IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation has carried out aid operations in Syria since the ongoing humanitarian crisis begun in 2011. As one of its latest activities, IHH distributed school bags and stationary items to 5.000 students studying in schools in Idlib and Afrin, northwest Syria.
In a written statement, IHH’s Syrian Operations Education Coordinator Sebahattin Aydın explained that they are carrying out education operations for the children victimized by the war.
“We will be preparing new education sets”
Explaining that IHH teams had distributed school bags and stationary items to students who are studying under extremely difficult conditions, Aydın said “Initially, we distributed school bags and stationary items to 5.000 students studying in Idlib and Afrin. Currently, our teams are working very hard in our storage depots. We are preparing new education sets so we can deliver them to the students.”
There are many ongoing educational projects
Aydın said IHH has many ongoing educational projects in Syria. He added:
“Our main aim is for the Syrian children, who have been affected by the war, to be educated and grow up as children that have hope for the future and become beneficial individuals in their environment. With this objective, we are building many schools to serve the people in the region. We are also forming lecture circles to offer spiritual/religious education.”
