The youth of the Ummah march for brotherhood
Students from 60 different countries marched in Istanbul’s Taksim district in order to show their solidarity with the Ummah.
05.05.2014

Muslim students from 60 different countries, including Turkey, came together to protest against the problems in the Muslim world and show their solidarity.

Students from Turkey, Egypt, Gaza, Somalia, Myanmar, the Central African Republic, Bangladesh and East Turkestan came together to chant with united voices and hearts for the Ummah.

Despite being from different races and cultures, the students stood as one to call on the Ummah to unite while demonstrating their solidarity with its oppressed peoples in the face of the wars, massacres, torture procedures and executions carried out by tyrants.

They cried out slogans calling to stand shoulder to shoulder with their brothers and sisters especially in Syria, Egypt, the Central African Republic and East Turkestan. While Musab Topal made a presentation at the protest, Mucahit Cemaller also gave a speech.

Blaming the endless problems across the Muslim world on the degregation of the sense of responsibility to preserve the Ummah, Cemaller said that the lines drawn across the Muslim lands were not acceptable and that Muslims should not live based on nationalist states but rather on a basis of brotherhood. Following his speech, Cemaller read out a press statement.

The statement was read in Kurdish by Burak Atas, English by Cuneyt Muceddid and Arabic by Hasan Cemal. After the speeches, a congregational prayer was read, supplicating for the unity and togetherness of the Ummah.
