IHH delegation which came together with Bosnian orphans during their three-day-long stay, visited the monument erected for the memory of Srebrenica martyrs. Around 70 orphans who came from different parts of the country had emotional moments in the martyrs’ cemetery. Some of the children who visited the cemetery for the first time could not hold back their tears.
The orphans were accompanied by Düzce Justice and Development Party (AK Party) deputy Osman Çakır, Adana deputy Fatoş Gürkan, Mardin deputy GönülBekinŞahkulubey and Aksaray deputy İlknur İnceöz. Undergoing emotional moments at Potacari cemetery, the deputies listened to the orphans one by one. Following the visit which was also joined by Munira Subasiç, head of Mothers’ Association in Srebrenica and Jeba, the group visited the family of a martyr.
The orphans who lost one or two members of their family in the Bosnian War had fun at a program held at Potacari Secondary School. Following a theater play and a performance from a choir, the orphans were given gift packages which included school supplies, bags and food.
