IHH has been delivering aid to Syria over the past five years. In 2015 the foundation has sent two thousand and four hundred trucks of flour, blankets, baby hampers, medical supplies and food.
The war, which has started in March 2011, has a death toll of four hundred thousand people according to the official records and millions of people are reported missing. Despite heavy bombardment at least 10 million people have been trying to survive in the country.
As the violence escalates the people are not able to get access to the most fundamental things to live on. As the Russian bombs targeting civilian areas increase, it is becoming even more difficult for people in the country to survive. In addition to providing shelter to the people and support for the orphans, two thousand four hundred aid-trucks have reached the region to deliver humanitarian assistance.
The aid included sixteen thousand flour, ten thousand rice, bulgur, cooking oil, pasta and various food idems, five hundred thousand blankets, four hundred and twenty thousand baby hampers and baby biscuit and, three hundred tonnes of meat, eight hundred tonnes of potatoes, six hundred and fifty thousand canned food.
