Aceh- Gaza Sisterhood Days

The orphans who stayed at the IHH's Istanbul Dormitory in Aceh, organized the sisterhood days for their Gazan sisters and brothers. As a part of the sisterhood days, the orphans organized activities to show that they won't forget their sisters and brothers in Gaza. The orphans of Aceh draw their love for Palestinian children on papers, expressed their emotions and thoughts by poems and essays. They expressed their hopes for being together in Gaza with Gazan children one day.

On the last day of the Aceh- Gaza Sisterhood Days, the orphans of the IHH’s Istanbul Dormitory prepared a surprise closure program in the hall which was decorated by their own hands. The program began with the recitation of the Holy Qur'an after which the IHH volunteers and the principle of the Istanbul Dormitory Resad Baser, gave a speech about the Palestinian problem and the Mavi Marmara event. Baser emphasized the importance of the sisterhood days and promised that the Gazan children will learn about this sisterhood program. After the speeches, the orphans performed a play. Before the end of the program the students who gained awards from the competitions received monetary awards. The orphans put their awards to the moneybox for Gazan children.
