BurkinaFaso 18.01.2017

Muslims living as minorities in many countries do not have an easy access to religious knowledge. The schools opened for this purpose will also serve as places of basic education and as an outlet for the local Muslims to solve their problems.

Therefore IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation keeps building permanent projects in dozens of countries around the world. IHH added one more to its permanent projects in many corners of Africa by opening two Quranic education centres named Mehmet Ozer, and Akabe respectively.

Akabe and Mehmet Özer Quranic Education Centres Opened

Akabe Quranic Education Centre with 250-student capacity opened in Ouahigouya of Yatenga province 180 km off the capital Ouagadougou. The centre, for which the construction had started in July 2016, consists of three classrooms on 168 square metres.

Meanwhile Mehmet Ozer Quranic Education Centre, where 300 students will be able to study, opened in Solle town of Loroum province 275 km off the capital Ouagadougou. The centre has six classrooms on 220 square meters.

Both centres feature a mosque where a congregation of 150 worshippers can pray.

Financial difficulties, lack of facilities, missionary activities, lack of education… All these negatively affect people`s lives and future in poor countries. Building schools and providing all kinds of resources to the children in order to help them become productive individuals serving their country are the top priorities.
