Aid extended to refugees in Albania
All needs of 32 refugees, including eight people who had been detained at Guantanamo without being charged for four and half years and released later, in the Albanian capital of Tirana were taken care
Albania, Balkans 12.02.2008

A team from the IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation visited the camp where the refugees are staying and provided them with mattress, duvet, blanket, sheet, pillow, chair, plate, spoon, fork, frying pan, pot, stove, drying rack, underwear, pants, shoes, socks, coat, shirt, blouse and t-shirt.

The refugees were gratified for receiving aid and expressed their thanks to the benevolent Turkish citizens over the help. The Albanian Interior Ministry presented a plaque of gratitude to the IHH over aid to the refugees.

Five Uyghur, two Egyptian and two Algerian citizens who had been detained at Guantanamo with no charge brought against them for four and half years and released later haven’t been accepted to any country. Unable to enter their own countries, the Guantanamo victims are living under harsh conditions in Albania.
