A number of European musicians, journalists, academics, and parliamentariansare among the activists onboard ship Estelle, which has reinvigorated the spirit of Mavi Marmara.

Some parliamentariansfrom Europe have also joined the activists onboard Estelle, which is continuing its sailing towards the Gaza Strip. Among the passengers of Swedish ship Estelle that is planning to reach Gaza by the weekendare several deputies such asVangelis Diamandopoulos from Greece, Aksel Hagen from Norway, Ricardo Sixto Iglesias from Spain, Sven Britton from Sweden as well as retired Canadian deputy Jim Manly.

There is also one Israeli citizen among the 20-member activists group, which is composed mostly of people from western countries such as Canada, Finland, Greece, Italy, Norway, Spain, and Sweden.

The ship Estelle, which is carrying various supplies of humanitarian materials for embargoed Gaza people especially for Gaza children, had set off from Sweden on 20 June and had been organized by peace activists on behalf of the Freedom Flotilla Coalition with the mission of solidarity with Palestinian people.

In a press release published on its webpage, the group underlined that the ship has gone through inspection many times and its cargo have been seen by thousands of visitors in person.

Israel threatened!

According to a statement the activists onboard Estelle posted on their webpage, Israel has made its first warning to the ship regarding its approach to Gaza. The threat-like warning issued to the group through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland stated that in case Estelle seeks to break the blockade on Gaza, Israel will intercept the ship and this will jeopardize the safety of the people on board.

The activists stressed in a statement they issued the ship is part of an international civil society action sailing for human rights and urged the state of Israel not to use force against the ship.

Qatar Charity and IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation established the “Hope City” in the town of Soran in the Azaz region of Syria, where 1,400 families affected by the civil war will reside. The inauguration of Hope City - which consists of 9 neighborhoods and is home to 10,000 people - was attended by many high-level officials from Qatar, Türkiye and Syria.
