Chechnya, Turkey 05.03.2010

The refugees, who sought shelter in Turkey to escape Russian occupation, are striving to survive in refugee camps of Beykoz, Ümraniye, Fenerbahçe in Istanbul and Yalova under hard conditions. They have a lot of difficulties since they do not have any legal rights.

The IHH carries on regular aid deliveries to the Chechen refugees. Shelter, food, education, health and other needs of the refugees are met by the foundation.

Furthermore, the Chechen families are provided with rent assistance every month.

The IHH lastly made another round of foodstuff, meat and cleaning materials delivery to the families living in prefabricated houses in Yalova, which were built for survivors of the Marmara earthquake of 1999.  The 33 families that received aid thanked the people who provided aid.
