China, CentralAsia 24.01.2001

Arrived in China after a long and tiring journey, IHH team arranged the first animal sacrifices in the village of Minsho, in Yinchuan city. Chinese Muslims are struggling to practice their religion in Yinchuan, where they constitute nearly 80 percent of the population. During the sacrificial animal meat delivery, the IHH team witnessed how much Chinese Muslims exerted effort to abide by Islamic rules in daily life despite official restrictions.

The IHH team later slaughtered sacrificial animals in Dachang Village in the province of Beijing. Animals were slaughtered in the yard of Dachang Mosque. Local people were pleased at being remembered by their Muslims brothers living in far lands.

The last slaughter of sacrificial animals was carried out in the costal province of Tianjin. Locals greeted the team with joy. After sacrificial animals were slaughtered and their meats were delivered, the IHH team visited a Chinese couple, who had converted to Islam during IHH sacrifice program the previous year, in the province of Hebei. Adem and Havva couple was quite pleased at the visit and thanked Turkish philanthropic people who shared their sacrificial animals with them. In the same location another pleasing development was reported. The IHH team helped four youngsters to recite Islamic testimony and convert to Islamic.

The happiness and greetings of the four youngsters, who newly converted to Islam, were added to the joy of the feast. The IHH team returned to Turkey after completion of sacrificial meat deliveries.
