During this visit organized in coordination with IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation, Özdemir personally interacted with the children and presented them with gifts. Later, Özdemir went over to the stove and cooked with the children.
Özdemir has helped people in need on many occasions both in Turkey and abroad. He did not forget the victims of the Syrian war facing great hardships in the tent cities during the cold winter conditions.
The master chef shared photos of those moments with his followers on his social media with a caption that says “Love is the greatest bond.”
Challenging times in the tent cities
In the tent cities where victims of the Syrian war live, people are facing challenging times due to the cold winter conditions. Many of the tents were destroyed by the heavy rain and snowfall. Some tents collapsed, while others were flooded.
Hundreds of families, consisting mainly of women and children, whose belongings were ruined when their tents were flooded, were forced to move in with their relatives living in other refugee camps. On average, around 10-15 people live in each tent in these camps.
